There is evidence of her interest in maintaining scientific contacts with the USSR and China during the Cold War, the first of many visits taking place in 1953 (F.7) and 1959 (F.14) respectively, and there is evidence of visa difficulties in respect of visiting the USA (F.9) during the same period.
